Track verification

verify.html is the public identification tool: upload audio, get a verdict.

Three modes

  1. Upload a track — checked against the NDP registry: match, record owner, splits.
  2. Registry lookup — by ISRC or fingerprint (base64).
  3. Compare two fingerprints — paste two ADNA strings, get their relation.

Verdict thresholds

Similarity Verdict Meaning
≥ 0.90 Same track Re-encode, different loudness, same material
0.75 – 0.90 Derivative Remix, sample, cover, adaptation — with source attribution
< 0.75 Unrelated No relation to the reference

For dense genres (DnB, hip-hop) the derivative threshold is locally raised (e.g. DnB — 0.822) so that merely similar textures aren't called "related".

Privacy

The fingerprint is computed in the browser (WebAssembly) — the source audio never leaves your computer. Only the 256-byte fingerprint is sent.

How trustworthy

Protocol attestation runs (full corpora, thousands of pairs):

  • copies and perturbed versions: 96% of pairs recognized as "same track";
  • foreign tracks: 85–89% of pairs safely below threshold, median similarity 0.63–0.67;
  • ±5% tempo shifts are survived by ≥99% of pairs.
